Effective July 1, 2009, overnight trading hours at the Chicago Board of Trade and Kansas City Board of Trade were extended.  Previously, both exchanges over night sessions traded from 6 pm to 6 am, Sunday through Thursday evenings.  On Wednesday of this week, over night hours have been extended until 7:15 am in each of the evening trading sessions.

            Beginning Monday, July 6, 2009, we will have a grain originator available at the Beatrice office from 6 am to 7 am, Monday through Friday to buy grain.  Services offered from 6 am to 7 am, M-F, will be identical to what we currently offer from 9:30 am to 1:10 pm during the day time trading session.

            We will offer this service to our patrons for 1 month on a trial basis until July 31, 2009.  At that time we will evaluate the interest in the program and make a decision on whether to continue or not.

            We are hopeful that this will allow some of our “early riser” patrons to talk about grain markets before beginning their day and potentially “catch” some higher prices in the over night sessions that may not be available during the following day session.
